Our Copper Quality
Electro-won SX-EW cathodes from Austral Resources Lady Annie Operations is sold as Grade “A” and complies with the LME’s (London Metal Exchange) Special Contract Rules for Grade “A” Copper. Production of cathode conforms chemically to the Grade A Chemical Specification, in accordance with the following standards:
Product | Copper Cathode Grade A Product symbol |
Product symbol | CCG-A |
Quality Identifiers | minimum 99.998% Copper Purity |
Form / Shape | Cathode 1m x 1m |
Weight | 55-65kg each |
Packing | Securely strapped in bundles not exceeding 2.55T (Average 2.5T) to permit safe handling without bundle distortion and breakage. 10 bundles of cathode will become 1 LOT of 25T. |
Quality | Copper Cathodes with a minimum Copper content of 99.99% must be produced as electrolytic copper according to one of the following standards: (1) BS EN 1978:1998 (cathode grade designation Cu-CATH-1) (2) GB/T 467-2010 (high purity Copper Cathode (Cu-CATH-1)) (3) ASTM B115-10 (cathode Grade 1) |
Physical appearance and presentation of cathodes is in accordance with the LME’s Special Contract Rules for Grade “A” Copper cathode. All Cathode bundles are marked with a unique identifier. Bundles are uniform, stable and securely strapped to withstand many handling and transportation events. The LME does not stipulate a minimum piece weight; however, our cathodes can range between 55kg to 65kg, measuring 1.0 metre square which complies to the LME range standard. Cathodes are reasonably free from nodules, outgrowth edges and all other extraneous materials such as electrolyte residues, dirt, grease and oil.
For Austral Resources to meet the high standard of LME Grade “A” cathode, strict operating controls and guidelines for the electrowinning circuit are implemented, this ensures cathode product quality is achieved.
